A Building
on the East side of Grenoble
for EGE church

OUR PROJECT

To shine with the light of Christ on the east side of Grenoble

After long months of prayer and searching
an incredible door has opened for us

The St. Bernard Chapel, located a short bike ride from the university campus, is for sale!

Where do we stand today?

From the early days of our church-plant project, a primary goal has been both to embody and to proclaim the gospel of Christ to college students and to neighbors
living on the East side of the city.

During the Covid pandemic in 2020, a much larger church located on the opposite side of the city offered to share space with us so that we could continue public meetings.
For the past four years we have been blessed by this partnership.

We sense, however, that the time has come to connect our physical meeting space to our expanding local witness on the East side. The St. Bernard Chapel purchase would help make that possible.

Our reasons

Vision

Connecting the space where we worship together
to the space where we live and witness together.

Church life

Enjoying greater flexibility in the use of facilities
both for worship and for neighborhood witness.

Renewal

Bringing new life to an otherwise lifeless church building
in an under-resourced corner of our township.

Training

Hosting workshops, conferences, and other regional equipping events
for church leaders and disciple-makers.

The Project

Our goal is to complete the purchase of the St. Bernard Chapel
from the Catholic diocese in June of 2025.

This property is reasonably priced, easily accessible, already zoned as a church, and large enough to accommodate our congregation with room for numeric growth. It is located on the edge of a low-income neighborhood with a highly diverse immigrant population.
After many years of limited use, it will need substantial renovations.

« I encourage you with all my heart to support the project of buying a building for EGE church. This church has been existing for a few years now. It is a community of dynamic disciples which has proven its faithfulness to the Word and its burden to make Christ known. This project represents a true opportunity to bring the Gospel in an area of the city where there are many human and spiritual needs. Having a building will help EGE church to become part of the fabric of the city and improve its impact by being an ambassador for the Kingdom. Embarking on a purchasing project is a great challenge that they are taking on with faith, trusting in God’s providence. With your support, anything becomes possible. That’s why I invite you to contribute generously to this project, in prayer and/or in donations. Your financial support will not only contribute to the funding for the building, but also to the advancement of the Kingdom of God in a city that needs it so much. »

«I am delighted by this wonderful opportunity given to the Grenoble-Est Church to acquire a space to better reach its neighborhood! I can only support this ambitious project and encourage all those who can to support it financially and in prayer. Let’s see how our God will provide, and let’s participate to the best of our abilities! The Grenoble-Est Church has been firmly established for 7 years. Its commitment to the Scriptures, its dynamism, its focus on relationships transformed by the power of Christ, its culture of individual formation, and its impactful testimony in the region are all reasons to help it acquire a space that will facilitate its activities and increase its impact. The diversity of its composition – singles, families, students, spiritually seeking individuals, future church leaders – will be well served by this space, which will allow for multiple uses. I pray that this beautiful project comes to fruition in a reasonable time frame."
